The Butcher’s Block is one of just a few butcher shops that sells certified Japanese Wagyu beef. Wagyu is a luxury beef product that is more than worth its price tag. But what really makes Wagyu so special, even more so than the beloved cut of filet mignon?
Wagyu literally translates to “Japanese beef” because, as the name implies, it comes from Japanese cattle. However, these cattle must go through a strict rearing and feeding process. True Wagyu is raised, fed, and butchered in Japan.
All of this work pays off in the final product, which is revered for its unique buttery flavor and soft texture. Because of the regulations and process behind obtaining the beef, Wagyu is considered a premium product, and thus is deserving of its price.
